yes yes i know.. everyone does this.. no one sticks to it. well cos they are stuff we aspire to be, but too lazy to go achieve it or lack of interest in the goal. and its too difficult to make a consious effort to change your ways..

so i have come up with just 1 new year resolution.

sometimes, lessons take time to be learnt,

i used to be the sort that would love to share my problems, but never would i ask someone to solve it for me [unless it was a damned project], i believed that my problems should just be my own headache.

with a recent incident, has taught me more on how to not trust people, and how wrong a judgement on a person can be, and how, even guys, can have multiple faces, hyprocritical and egoistic.

and having said that.. i have also learnt that i can count on my loved ones to be there for me. the people who are worth the trust and love back. and, it also has strengthen the bond between us, something which money can never buy.

so, people who aren't worth my time, the above is for you. =)

and to end it off, thank you baby for being here for me, for supporting me, and for being so cute about it! i love you!!! =D

moving on! FP is killing me left right centre!! thank god my mom is a super neat freak!!! all my values which i needed were all filed around my house! and my mom would just pick out the files..

i was looking through a random file.. it even has an invoice of our dining room cushion covers, with a sample piece of cloth taped to it! dated 1999!!!

and her other invoices for other appliances, and even a photocopy of me signing up for Talking Science magazine for $22 in primary school!! haha.

oh yea.. i just realised how braindead i've been these days.. like when hiro was driving me.. then this guy indicated left with his hand out of the window.. then hiro and i were having some radom convo about it.. then he was like.. "that's the passenger what! how can it be the driver hand so long!" oh ya hor. -.-

heh. what a nice poem to start off my entry.. but what a sad song is playing now.. 25 minutes by MLTR. ever realised how beautiful the song is? usually songs have a nice tune but alright lyrics or vice versa. but have you ever heard a song that has a timeless melody with ever-so-touching and sad lyrics that you can forever relate to, move you to tears, and yet when you hear it, it makes you somewhat happy that you can reminisce in the past?

so anyways!! i am here to blog about HOW PRO I AM IN FP. okay no.. but HOW PRO MY GROUP IS IN FINANCIAL PLANNING. we here to pwn!

and.. im rather sad that i wont have these arguements with tsuisan anymore =( haii.. nevermind! i'll argue with jassy! haha.

and.. while im on the topic of school..

for those who dont know, im in S.M.A.R.T., sort of like student mentors. and to join this 'cca', you need to go through training, and interviews, and evalution from seniors..

and im in year 3 poly,

and i helped out for this recent openhouse on friday.

as mentioned, i am a year 3 student. i have the experience of poly life, i know more about courses, i know about the activities in school, i know what a banking and finance student [at least the banking side] will do the 3 years of its course [and i can guess what the newer batches will study]. on top of that, i definately have more friends in school than an average year 1, because i have 3 years of poly life to make friends [and thus knowing more about other courses in SB and elsewhere]. the purpose of open house, after all, is to draw people into SP right?

for the recent open house, my duty was given to me by S.M.A.R.T. and.. i was an USHER.

A FRIGGIN USHER.

i understand if you want to put an usher.. but WHY PUT A YEAR 3 USHER, WHEN IM SO MORE MORE SUITED TO BE A COURSE COUNSELLOR?!

on the other hand,
dont tell me, a year 1 cannot direct guests to the old library?
or, we cant afford signs to direct the guests A STRAIGHT PATH?
since we had a radio booth, people cannot ask them?!?!

and people who came to the open house in SB weren't interested in roaming. they dont go to poly for FUN. we have clubs and playgrounds and malls for that.

so yes. thank you for giving me the job of putting me as usher.. walking 30 steps back and forth.

given the task to stall the students before they can enter the room..

asking us to go to the already full radio booth to stall them even more..

as mentioned, people who go poly, want to know about the courses offered. not learn about games that can be played eg. spelling bee. [no offence dave and leeyen!]

and the dumbest part? we make conversation and ask them.. "so what course are you interested in?/these are the courses we have..."

and when i direct them to the old library, a lecturer would be there to ask them "which course you are interested in", so they can be directed to the right school [business, IT or communication].

then once they reach the booths.. they will ask a lecturer or student cousellor "hey im interested in _________" or the lecturer or counsellor will ask "hey what are you interested in" etc.

A BIT THE DUMB RIGHT?

half the students who went on thursday/friday were forced by their school, so their first impression of SP is "wah lao they keep asking buay sian ah?" as for the younger batches, "im still in sec 2/3, how the nehneh should i know what i wanna do yet? i still got [at least 2] years to think about it!"

as for the students who came on saturday or other days but werent forced by their school but by sheer interest, the former would apply.

my dear SP, you teach customer relationship management, personal selling, you should already know what the students want. they want the education. sell to them what they want. there is no point beating about the bush advertising the other features if you wont answer their key questions. they want the school name in their cert. they are not here to answer "which course are you interested in" questions 3 times before they get a year 1 student who knows just as much as them about the courses. they will have their own questions. i was an o lvl student going to SP trying to look for a course. the lecturers didnt answer my questions in my '16-year-old frequency'. i was a student course counsellor in year 1, and i know, that when i was in year 1, i didnt know crap about what the year 3s were required to study etc. let alone in other courses.

take it from my experience. i was ever a prospect and now a customer.

why though, did i join when i didnt understand the lecturers? cos of the name lah!

so my additional advice is, people might join other polys cos its more convenient, better in other courses, the only poly that accepts them, have the course they are interested in or just have the factor they are looking for. for example, take a person who was interested in having a fun poly life, i wouldnt think of SP. i would have thought TP. it's in their branding. so SP, stop trying to act 'cool'. be a nerd and be proud of it!

i mean. whats so bad about being a nerd! i like that i overly study, dont club, and talk in my course's jargon all the time.

i mean, personally i find it quite funny that i can say "since the world is ending, lets take out all our funds and invest in futures, stocks!", "let's invest in madoff!" or "practice reasonable skill and care". yes. we actually find this extremely funny and entertaining!

haha. and this all started cos i was an USHER.

i just realised how fast everything is moving. 1 month from now, i would be mugging for my last paper in poly. and a week after that, i will be in thailand, then taking up AFP, then become 20, then fly off to australia. confirmed.

oh well, that shatters all hope that i can go liverpool.. i really did want to go.. the price difference is marginal, but i guess.. oh i dunno what to guess.. i think liverpool would have been so cool.

and that shatters all hope of getting out of melbourne. dont get me wrong, not that i hate it there, i've been there so often, i've grown to love it. but theres just some factors which would make my education more unbearable. and its so far from singapore.. i know.. liverpool is further, but at least its cool and far. melb is like just far.. perth is nearer.. why not perth?

okay.. i dunno. im just getting confused with the speed at which everything is moving.

next week is the final BD presentation.. for external accessors.
followed by financial planning final test.
then chinese new year, and 2 years for toshihiro and me =)
after that would be psychology final test.
and then ITFD and Treasury papers

and thats it. end of poly. 3 years of knowledge, 3 years of friendship, 3 years of a very different environment. its over. o.o that was a very fast 3 years.

then its thailand.. a place i've never been to, and speak a totally foreign language. i mean.. at least when i go to china, i dont understand what they say and i can hardly decipher the words plastered all over.. but, lke at least 2% gets into my brain. oh well. we'll see how it goes. great classmates will guide me along the way. they are so thai-ish.
